Is your book club looking for a fast-paced story that challenges their assumptions aboutĀ female heros? A love story that is more about happily ever after than that first kiss?
Daughter of Oreveille is ideal for readers who love a sweeping, immersive story, but don’t have as much time as they’d like to enjoy a good book.

I love the way even the “bad” guy in the story is someone you can kind of root for… I remember thinking, “well if you have to choose someone besides the person you love, he wouldn’t be shabby!”
Daughter of Oreveille surprised me with with how well I came to love the heroine in such a short span of time. One of those novellas that you get lost in and enjoy in one sitting.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a high-fantasy book, but this one reminds me why I fell in love with the genre in the first place. Tricia Ballad does a great job building a rich and complex world. From magic to politics to confining social structures, the society of this book is authentic and engaging.
